Court dockets are a useful tool to help the public know when and where trials are going to take place. Court dockets are usually only available for the week ahead, and won’t be useful for viewing details information. Instead, a court docket is like a schedule of upcoming cases, that has information such as the judge assigned to the case, the plaintiff, charges, date, time, and location the trial will take place.

In Wayne County, court dockets are available online through the district court where the case is tried. For instance, in the 36th district court, records are available by researching the court schedule at https://www.36thdistrictcourt.org/online-services/case-inquiry-schedule. You can look up cases by date, courtroom, magistrate, or judge. Once you select a date and courtroom, you can then view the judge, magistrate, and courtroom, date, time, case number, name of the defendant, and action. The court type, such as traffic court, will also be displayed.
There are also court dockets available by city. For instance, the city of Dearborn has its own dockets available online at https://cityofdearborn.org/services/courts/court-docket for cases tried in the 19th district court. By far the best way to view the docket you’re interested in is to call the courthouse or jail a defendant is in and find the location of the case being tried. Doing so will help you get a more accurate court docket.
