Like other counties, Wayne County keeps criminal court records online and open to the public as well. These records can be accessed through the County’s Odyssey Public Access, or OPA, system online at https://cmspublic.3rdcc.org/. Select “Criminal Cases” in the dropdown menu and search for cases by case number, defendant name, attorney name, or date filed.

If you don’t have that information available, you can select the date range of the crime. A case search will populate cases by case number, citation number, defendant information, location filed and the judicial officer filed with, type of case (felony or misdemeanor), and the charges. These reports will show actions taken, such as if a warrant was issued, attorney information, and the result of the case.
It’s important to know that compared to other counties, Wayne County has minimal information available on the online OPA site. It’s limited to only case search results, registers of action (i.e., if warrants were issued, what happened in court), and civil case records. If you need more extensive records, you should visit the Wayne County Clerk – Records Division at the CAYMC, 2 Woodward Ave, Room LL-61, Detroit, MI 48226 and call them at 313-224-5530.
Criminal records specifically in the city of Detroit after 1983 might also be limited. Call the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice records room at (313) 224-250.
